Louisa fell in love with photography at the very young age of 11 when receiving her first camera. I was always thrilled and captivated with capturing images frozen at that point in time “forever”.
Years later attended New York School of Photography, Bryan Peterson School of Photography, Peters Valley, countless workshops and a member of Northeast Pennsylvania Professional Photographers Association. While a member of NEPPA won several awards, and served as president of the association.
My photography career started out with portraits and weddings which were quite exciting work at the time. After fulfilling that desire decided to move into the area of Fine Art Photography which I absolutely love! My focus is landscapes and flower photography. I am drawn to Landscape, Nature and rural settings. My mind and eye is opened to whatever I feel will make a beautiful photograph.
My training is ongoing as I move into Fine Art Photography. Learning from Kathleen Clemons known for her flower photography as well as being an instructor with the Bryan Peterson School of Photography. I have a mentor who has been with me since the beginning of my career and forever a part of my professional and personal life.
Before taking a photograph, I see the potential of the result and that is what excites me and is the beginning for creativity. I will often spend many hours with an image in the digital darkroom bringing my vision to life.
"To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them."
